Let’s Talk Shipping 👀 (because I know you’re wondering)
Share
Okay… let’s just say it:
Shipping feels expensive.
I get it.
As a customer myself, I feel it too.
But here’s the truth:
Shipping costs money.
Like… real money. Not just a little.
Between carrier rates, packaging, fuel surcharges, and distance—those costs add up fast.
💡 So why not just offer free shipping?
Great question.
Because here are the two options:
👉 Option 1: Increase prices across the board
👉 Option 2: Keep prices lower and charge for shipping
That’s it.
That’s the reality for small businesses.
🎯 The “Free Shipping” Myth
Let’s clear this up:
Free shipping isn’t actually free.
It’s built into product pricing.
So instead of seeing it at checkout…
You’re paying for it in every item you buy.
🛍 What I do (and why)
I’ve chosen to:
✔️ Keep my product prices as low as possible
✔️ Charge shipping separately
Because that gives you more control over how you shop.
And if I’m being honest?
As a consumer… I aim for the free shipping threshold 100% of the time 😅
Because in my brain:
👉 I’d rather have $15 in product than pay $15 in shipping
Every. Single. Time.
👀 What this means for you
If you’re shopping with intention:
✔️ Bundle your orders
✔️ Hit free shipping thresholds when you can
✔️ Get more value in product vs fees
And while we’re here—let’s talk about lettermail.
Yes… I offer it.
And yes… it’s cheaper.
But here’s the honest truth:
It comes with risks.
👉 No tracking
👉 Higher chance of damage
👉 Higher chance of loss
Once it leaves my hands… that’s it.
So is it worth it?
For some people? Yes.
If you’re okay taking the risk to save on shipping, it can be a good option.
For me, personally? No.
I’d rather pay for tracked shipping, know where my package is, and have that peace of mind.
💡 So why do I still offer it?
Because I know everyone shops differently.
Some customers want the lowest possible cost.
Others want security and tracking.
And I want you to have the option that works best for you.
Just know—if you choose lettermail, you’re choosing the savings and the risk.
💙 At the end of the day…
There’s no “perfect” system.
Every business has to choose what works for them—and for their customers.
For me?
It’s about being transparent, fair, and giving you the best value I can.
And trust me…
If I could ship everything for free without raising prices?
I would in a heartbeat 😉
